= Desgodinsia Oberthür, 1914: 56 (TS. Desgodinsia watsoni Oberthür, 1914: 56, by monotypy. Desgodinsia Oberthür is a junior homonym of Desgodinsia Senna, 1894: 381 (Coleoptera). There is no objective replacement name, but D. watsoni is congeneric with Phalaena cynthia, the type-species of Samia Hübner and the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name (Fletcher & Nye 1982).
