= Aethria Hübner, [1821] 1816: 218 (TS: Noctua serena [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775: 84, N. serena is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena bi[c]olorata Hufnagel, 1766: 410. The original spelling by Hufnagel was biolorata, but ever since, for over 200 years, it has been known in all works and nomenclators as bicolorata). Aethria Hübner, [1821], is a junior homonym of Aethria Hübner, [1819] 1816: 120 (Lepidoptera, Ctenuchidae). There is no objective replacement name but N. serena is congeneric with Phalaena brassicae Linnaeus, 1758, the type species of Mamestra Ochsenheimer, 1816. The latter is therefore available for use as a subjective replacement name (Nye 1975). Lödl et al. (2019) did not mentioned any this about this case.
