= Mimetes Hübner, [1821] 1816: 210 (TS: Noctua nebulosa Hübner, [1808]: pl. 86). Mimetes Hübner is a junior homonym of Mimetes Eschscholtz, 1818: 467 (Coleoptera). There is no objective replacement name, but N. nebulosa is a junior subjective synonym of Noctua decora [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775, the type species of Euxoa Hübner, [1821]. The latter is therefore available for use as a subjective replacement name).

= Paragrotis Dyar, 1902: 140 (TS: Carneades moerens Grote, 1883: 4). Paragrotis was proposed as the objective replacement name for Carneades Grote, 1883; but Dyar attributed Paragrotis to F. C. Pratt, and this has been followed by Neave (1940): 570.

= Mesoeuxoa Corti, in Seitz, 1932: 38 (TS: Phalaena lidia Stoll, in Cramer, [1782]: 222). Mesoeuxoa Corti is not strictly nomenclaturally available under Article 13 (6) as it was published after 1930 and had no definite fixation of a type species. It is currently accepted as a junior subjective synonym of Chorizagrotis Smith, 1890.
