Amata formosae (Butler, 1876) restricted to Taiwan was reported from India by Singh et al. (2014) following Zerny (1912) as Amata emma (Indian species) was synonmised with it. Now, A. emma is valid species and A. formosae is synonymised with A. edwardsii, thus formosae and edwardsii both are not reported from India (Lu et al. 2012) and excluded from this list
