<i>Lygephila cucullata</i> (Moore, 1882) (TL: Nainital) was suggested as a separate species which was usually treated as synonym of <i>L</i>. <i>dorsigera</i>. The distribution of <i>L</i>. <i>dorsigera</i> was not mentioned from India by Pekarsky (2016). But, Riyaz et al. (2023) mentioned it again from Western Ghats of India (Tamil Nadu). The identity from Indian region needs further investigation.
