Type Species

Bombyx helvola Hübner, [1803] 1796, by subsequent designation by Hampson (1900): 130, 145, but cited as <i>Noctua depressa</i> Esper, 1787, a nominal species not originally included in <i>Katha</i>. Hampson, on page 145, placed <i>depressa</i> as the senior synonym of <i>helvola</i>, a nominal species originally included in <i>Katha</i>. Under the Code, Article 69(a) (iv), the designation constitutes the fixation of the originally included name as the type species. <i>Bombyx helvola</i> is a junior subjective synonym of <i>Noctua depressa</i> Esper, 1787: 98, pl. 93 (Nye & Fletcher 1980).
