Pre-dispersal seed predation of bayberry, <i>Myrica rubra</i> on Yakushima Island, Japan. It attacks the fruits during the primary stage of fruit development and feeds on the seeds of <i>M. rubra</i>. It was earlier known to be a foliage feeder (leaf miner), but then reported as a seed predator of the bayberry (Fujita et al. 2009).
