Remarks
The phylogenetic analysis of Kobayashi & Nonaka (2016) showed that the genus <i>Ptilodon</i> is placed in tribe Notodontini of the subfamily Noodontinae, unlike the classification of Schintlmeister (2008), where it was placed in the subfamily Ptilodontinae. The latter classification was problematic as it was ignoring monophyly and phylogeny. Further studies are needed for confirming the phylogeny of this confusing genus and hence, the subgenera under this genus have been omitted.
