The recent revision of the species Dahira yunnanfauna Clark, 1925 has resulted in its division into three subspecies based on male genitalic features. Of these, two subspecies i.e., D. yunnanfauna montivaga (found in eastern Nepal, Bhutan, southern Tibet, China) and D. yunnanfauna indicus (found in Arunachal Pradesh, India), are reported from India. The nominotypical subspecies, D. yunnanfauna yunnanfauna, is restricted to China (Yunnan, Shaanxi, Sichuan) (Haxaire et al. 2021).
